Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?
I am from Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to enrolling, I had served in the Royal Thai Army for a short period.
How did you learn of the degree program and why did you choose USC Annenberg?
I actually stumbled upon this program while researching other graduate programs at USC Annenberg. I had always been in the concept of soft power and the communications aspect of international relations so this program fits the bill perfectly. There are only a handful of public diplomacy graduate programs in the world and finding out that USC Annenberg’s MPD program was the first of its kind in the world solidified my decision to apply. I also couldn’t pass up another opportunity to live in Los Angeles after spending my college and post-grad years here.
What have you enjoyed the most about the degree program?
I have enjoyed the plethora of views and opinions that I have been exposed to. The students in the program hail from various different countries, cultures and professions. The professors in the program also have had extensive experience in diplomacy-related fields and are able to provide unique insights on global issues. To be able to have dialogue in and outside of the classroom about international relations has really widened my global perspective.
