Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?

I am from Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Prior to enrolling in graduate school, I was working as a local news reporter and a podcast producer.  

How did you learn of the degree program and why did you choose USC Annenberg?

A friend of mine recommended the program because I was looking to specialize in a particular field of journalism. After speaking with professors and alumni, it seemed like a good fit. It ended up working out because USC Annenberg was the only grad program I applied to.

What have you enjoyed the most about the degree program?

This experience has been challenging but extremely rewarding. I’ve gained new skills in data journalism and business reporting and have met many smart, ambitious journalists. The professors go above and beyond for students to make sure they are supported. I wanted to attend a program that would challenge me to think critically about story development and know I’ve gained that from the specialized journalism program.
