Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?

I’m from Mumbai! Before grad school, I was on one hand, wrapping up my undergrad in engineering, and on the other, interning at ad agencies, PR firms, leading up to a B2B SaaS startup. I loved the discovery process that led me to stumble upon product marketing. It helped me realize that I wanted to build a career at the intersection of technology, marketing, and business development. I was also composing, recording, and releasing music as an indie songwriter on Spotify.

But, who was I before grad school? I’ll answer that by name-dropping a few entities that changed my life forever: The Beatles, Aaron Sorkin, HBO, Satyajit Ray, Mad Men, Richard Linklater, David Ogilvy, and Sheryl Sandberg.

How did you learn about the Digital Social Media degree program and why did you choose USC Annenberg?

Great SEO does the trick! Jokes aside, I wanted to learn from the best in the business. USC Annenberg's reputation precedes itself in all things marketing communications and digital media.

And, I wanted to be a part of that elite community.

What have you enjoyed the most about the Digital Social Media degree program?

The flexibility of coursework is one of my favorite things. It helped me curate my DSM coursework to my needs — a balance of strategy, analytics, and marketing. My experiences interacting with professors both inside and outside of class has also had a tremendous impact in shaping my professional outlook. And for that, I’m grateful to the DSM program.
