Karen Jones is a communications strategist with over two decades of expertise in driving high-impact publicity initiatives for a global entertainment brand. Jones pivoted from her career as a television publicity executive to communications consulting, brand and executive storytelling, and leadership coaching.

In her former role as executive vice president and head of communications for HBO and HBO Max (now Max), Jones was a trusted advisor to the C-suite. She led external communications and media relations, including crisis management, and spearheaded all publicity efforts for the award-winning original content slate.

She is committed to fostering equitable access to education and mentoring emerging leaders, especially those from underrecognized backgrounds. Jones serves on the board of Ready to Succeed. She currently serves as governor for the Television Academy, representing the Public Relations Peer Group.

Jones began her entertainment publicity career as a unit publicist working on feature films. She is an alumna of Amherst College, earning her BA magna cum laude in French. Born in South Los Angeles, Jones is a second-generation Angeleno.
