Gabby Fernandez is the associate director of audience at Vox.com. She provides critical support to Vox’s editorial teams around priority projects by helping create conversations around text reporting, developing strategies with partner platforms, project managing newsletters, and building habits with readers.

She was previously an audience engagement editor at the Los Angeles Times, where she co-led the Instagram strategy and worked to bring quality journalism to the paper’s bilingual readers. Prior to that, she worked as an editorial fellow on the social media team at The Atlantic.

Born and raised in the South Bay in Los Angeles, Fernandez graduated from USC with degrees in broadcast and digital journalism and narrative studies. She’s passionate about making the news accessible and stories that examine economic hardship in America.
