Wednesday, January 18, 2023

Noon 1 p.m. PT

Soto Street Building Room 116, 1845 N. Soto Street, Los Angeles, CA 90032

Please join the USC Institute for Addiction Science for their Distinguish Speakers Series and welcome Dr. Amanda Latimore, director of the Center for Addiction Research and Effective Solutions (CARES) at American Institutes Research and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

She will discuss how seemingly “race-neutral” drug policies have produced disproportionate impacts on Black and brown people from their inception. The application of socioecological frameworks can assist in departing from this trajectory of health inequity. Dr. Latimore will explore the social and structural determinants of addiction and opportunities for reparative justice.
