State-of-the-science cannabis research assessment issues and methods

Join Dr. Mark Prince, associate professor and associate director of Addiction Counseling, Department of Psychology at Colorado State University, for our February 2023 Institute for Addiction Science Distinguished Speaker Series event.
Dr. Prince will discuss his work conducting cannabis research in Colorado immediately following legalization of recreational cannabis. In his talk he will describe the process of making connections with dispensaries, vertically integrated cannabis companies and cannabis social clubs. He will discuss his work on measurement issues related to cannabis quantity, frequency, potency, and route of administration, as well as the benefits and challenges of self-report data compared to automatic real time data collection with a smart vaporizer. Finally, Dr. Prince will provide recommendations for cannabis researchers regarding research design, recruitment and assessment.
