
Russian hackers and trolls exploited US media in 2016

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, professor of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and director of its Annenberg Public Policy Center, is the recipient of the 2018 Everett M. Rogers Award. She will chronicle how Russian trolls and hackers exploited US media routines and social media structures in order to sow discord, undermine Hillary Clinton’s candidacy and bolster Donald Trump’s electoral prospects. She also will ask how the US can minimize its vulnerabilities to future intrusions by foreign actors in our election.
Lunch will be served. An RSVP is required.
