Power panel: The portrayal of Jews in modern TV and film
Wednesday, November 20, 2019
7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
USC Hillel, 3300 S. Hoover Street Los Angeles, CA 90007
After reflecting on the Emmys, it is amazing to reflect on the many portrayals of Jews on screen this year, including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Transparent, Broad City, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Schitt's Creek and Russian Doll. We are in an amazing time in Hollywood, where, in the midst of the #MeToo movement and rising levels of anti-Semitism, Jewish voices are being heard on and off-screen, like Alex Borstein's amazing speech about her grandmother surviving the Holocaust. Join USC Hillel in conversation with Jessica Radloff (Glamour Magazine), Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory and Grok Nation) and Lindsay Krug (ID Public Relations) on the topic of the portrayal of Jews in modern television and film.
