Noon 1 p.m. PT

USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism (ASC), 207

Join USC Annenberg Career Development for a talk with Annenberg alum, Kaylin Cotton, head of operations and chief of staff at HOORAE to hear more about her career journey and advice on navigating a career in the entertainment industry.

Cotton is a Los Angeles native dedicated to creative leadership strategies and pushing organizations forward with the inclusive and equitable sensibilities of today. Cotton began her career managing several retail locations for Fortune 500 companies, including Target and Skechers where she led dozens of employees and learned the value of harnessing her millennial approach to leadership. Next, she took on entertainment at Shonda Rhimes’ media company Shondaland, building out the company’s brand guidelines and events. At Live Nation, she specialized in internal diversity, equity, and inclusion communication and programming. Cotton’s experience as often the youngest, one of few women, and singular Black person in the room has led her full circle to her current role as chief of staff of Issa Rae’s Hoorae. Cotton attended UC Merced for undergrad and USC, in her hometown of Los Angeles, for grad school.
