Join USC Annenberg alum Sona Iliffe-Moon, director of corporate media relations at Facebook, for a discussion on career paths in the tech industry with a communication, journalism or PR degree.

Sona leads the corporate media relations team at Facebook and joined the company in 2015 to build out the global consumer communications function. Prior to Facebook, Sona led communications at Nestle across their beverage and international divisions. Previously, Sona spent nine years at Toyota where she held various roles across corporate, brand and crisis communications.

Prior to going in house, Sona worked on the media relations, public affairs and multicultural teams at Weber Shandwick and Hill & Knowlton on brands including Walmart, Reebok, CVS, Motorola and Carl’s Jr. Prior to pursuing a career in public relations, Sona served as a foreign affairs officer in the Bureau of Arms Control at the US Department of State.

Sona earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations at the George Washington University and a master’s degree in strategic public relations at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School. Sona lives in Menlo Park, Calif. with her husband and their three children. She enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, fashion and dancing.
