Join USC Annenberg’s Career Development team for a conversation with Jim Lesser and Adriana Falcon from BBDO San Francisco.

Jim Lesser

Jim Lesser is one of the few Creative Directors in the advertising industry to become President and CEO. He began his career as the receptionist in a New York agency and, as a result, believes that a great idea can come from anywhere. Especially the receptionist.

Since Jim was named CEO, the San Francisco office has tripled in size with new business wins from brands like Wells Fargo, Barbie and WhatsApp. They also created one of the “Iconic Campaigns of the Decade” for Barbie and won EFFIES, CLIOS and Cannes Lions along the way.

Jim was the first Creative Director In Residence at the University of Texas's School of Advertising and Communication. He’s also been a guest lecturer at the Annenberg School, UC Boulder's College of Media, Communication and Information and the BYU AdLab. He also served on the USC Annenberg School's Curriculum Committee.

Jim is the Chairman of the Board for 826 Valencia — a non-profit in San Francisco that tutors underserved children with their writing skills in order to help them discover and develop the power of their voice. He is also a Certified CrossFit trainer and outdoor enthusiast.

Adriana Falcon

Adriana Falcon started her career at BBDO San Francisco 16 years ago. As part of the account management team, she worked on a variety of brands and categories such as Visa, Air New Zealand, California Lottery and Gallo Wines. Six years later, she made a pivot from managing client relations to talent management. She is now responsible for all recruitment, hiring, employee development, HR and internship partnerships and programs.
