Tuesday, September 11, 2018
6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Wallis Annenberg Hall (ANN), L105A
Join Robert Scheer in his class for a conversation with Ron Kovic on the failure of the media to document the true cost of wars. Mr. Kovic is an American anti-war activist, writer and United States Marine Corps sergeant, who was wounded and paralyzed in the Vietnam War. He is the author of the memoir Born on the Fourth of July in 1976, which was made into an Academy Award-winning film in 1989 starring Tom Cruise as Kovic and directed by Oliver Stone. His latest book, Hurricane Street, is an expose on the struggles veterans face with the Veterans Affairs hospital system.
