Entrepreneur and K-pop sensation Eric Nam is coming to USC.
Joined by his brother, CEO of Mindset and Dive Studios, Eric and Brian will be speaking about how they have redefined the social representation of success and mental health to achieve greater fulfillment in life. They will also speak about their respective journeys that led to the founding of Mindset, a now premiere wellness platform that features exclusive stories of self growth from artists such as Jackson Wang of GOT7, Soyeon of (G)I-DLE, Keshi and Tori Kelly. Brian Nam is the founder and CEO of DIVE Studios and Mindset, along with his brothers Eric Nam and Eddie Nam. DIVE Studios, founded in August 2019, is a leading digital media company focused on the global K-pop and Asian-American markets and has over 500 million views, 80 million podcast streams, and 4 million social followers. Mindset, founded in February 2021, is a daily self-care app targeting Gen-Z with over 800k users and has received investments from notable investors such as Union Square Ventures, HYBE Corporation, TQ Ventures (Scooter Braun), A.Capital, SV Angel, and 500 Startups, among others. Before starting DIVE Studios, Brian was a collegiate Division 1 athlete on the men's soccer team and a financial economics major at Columbia University. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Brian's goal is to continue growing DIVE Studios and Mindset and make a positive impact in the world through the content these companies create.
Eric Nam is a multifaceted entertainer, singer, songwriter, and TV personality fluent in English, Korean, Spanish, and conversational in Mandarin. Named GQ Korea’s Man of the Year, Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, Eric is a household name and one of the most extensively touring and best-selling artists out of Korea.
Eric released his first album as an independent artist, titled “There And Back Again”, in January 2022, which debuted at #3 and #7 on the US and UK Spotify Charts and peaked at the #22 spot for albums sold on Billboard.
Dr. Quade French is the Associate Dean and Chief Diversity Officer for USC’s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. He directs school-wide efforts to expand recruitment and retention, with a particular focus on addressing the culture and behaviors that impact a person’s sense of belonging and connection to their department and Dornsife.
Dr. French is a licensed clinical psychologist and leverages a psychologically-minded and equity-based approach to solve complex organizational challenges so that individuals, groups, and leaders can learn, connect, and adapt together.
Dr. French served previously in the USC Provost’s Office of Campus Wellbeing and Education as Senior Director of Consultation and Training and has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the USC Rossier School of Education where he has taught on topics of social justice and equity in psychological practice, psychological theory, and law and ethics in counseling.
