The Seeing Me in the Media Mentorship Program is kicking off this semester with a conversation with industry leader, Claudia Lyon, executive vice president of talent and casting for CBS Entertainment at ViacomCBS. She will share about her career journey and how to be a champion for diversity and inclusion.

All students and members of the USC community are welcomed to join us for this incredible conversation.

Claudia Lyon was named executive vice president of talent and casting at CBS Entertainment in July 2019. In her role, Lyon oversees all talent and casting operations for CBS Entertainment’s primetime and daytime programming, limited series, alternative programs and specials. Most recently, she was instrumental in the casting of new Network series NCIS: Hawai’i and Ghosts as well as 2020’s breakout series The Equalizer. Lyon also works closely with the corporate Office of Global Inclusion to produce the annual ViacomCBS Talent Showcase and is a member of the parent company’s Global Inclusion Advisory Council.

About Seeing ME in the Media Mentorship Program:

This student-to-alumni mentoring program supports students who identify as first-generation and/or BIPOC. A diverse and dedicated group of alumni mentors serve as advisors and role models to encourage career exploration and to discuss the professional and personal challenges facing first-gen and BIPOC students as they explore the communication and media industries. This program runs from October to March.
