Brand yourself: Making business cards stand out with Illustrator and InDesign
Tuesday, September 4, 2018
5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Wallis Annenberg Hall (ANN), Digital Lounge
A business card is a must-have item to promote yourself, whether you’re networking at a conference or serendipitously meet a potential client or collaborator at a cafe. Your business card should tell your story and be easy to read. We’ll show you how to play with type in Illustrator to make a logo that stands out. Then we’ll bring your logo and your copy all together in InDesign to create a professional business card that you’ll be proud to hand to someone.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to do the following:
- Understand the type tools in Illustrator
- Turn type into vector and manipulate it
- Layout your business card using guides, grids, and the align panel
- Set up your design for print
- Export your design to be printed
