Eugene Jang is a doctoral student at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and a Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) fellow.
Her research interests include communication technology, social identity, AI-mediated communication, and algorithmic biases. She uses a mix of methods that are quantitative and qualitative for her research.
Eugene graduated summa cum laude from Seoul National University (SNU), receiving her B.A. and M.A. in Communication. Prior to joining Annenberg, she served as a research assistant at the SNU Big Data Institute. She also worked for the SNU Human Ecology Research Institute where she focused on researching data monopoly, data brokers, surveillance culture, and privacy issues.
