Nina Kaminer

Founder and President, Nike Communications; Center for Public Relations Board Member

In 1984, Nina Kaminer founded Nike Communications, a full-service public relations firm specializing in the marketing and promotion of luxury goods and premium lifestyle products. A graduate of Amherst College with a degree in classics, Kaminer spent her academic years developing original translations of Ancient Greek dramas which she both performed and directed in site-specific environment — literally “reinventing the classics” for a modern audience. This admittedly arcane pursuit prepared her exceptionally well for her self-imposed professional challenge: to help classic brands reinvent themselves in order to appeal to a new audience.

In 1984, after three years of work in strategic brand management for industrial giants such as Xerox, Grumman, and Bausch + Lomb, she founded Nike Communications, named for the Greek Goddess of Victory. Since that time, Kaminer has forged Nike Communications into a world-class PR firm with a truly unique niche: International Luxury Brand Development.

She is as at home in Paris, Milan, London, and Hamburg, as she is in Los Angeles and New York City. She was recently a keynote speaker at the Departures annual sales meeting, and is a guest speaker at the Luxury Marketing Council, American Express Publishing’s Luxury Summit, and has been profiled in Luxury Briefing. Most recently, Nike Communications was acknowledged by the Observer, which included the agency among its 50 Power PR Firms.
