Faryar Borhani
Faryar Borhani serves as Encore Capital Group’s chief communications officer. In this role, he is responsible for developing and managing the organization’s global corporate communications strategy across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. This includes leading the design, execution, and measurement of programs spanning stakeholder relations, corporate reputation and brand positioning, ESG and corporate stewardship, issues and risk mitigation, and providing counsel to Encore’s executive leadership team.
Since joining Encore in 2021, Borhani has led the design and launch of several key, first-time initiatives for the company, including the Economic Freedom Study (in partnership with Morning Consult), the organization’s ESG strategy and governance platform, and the roll-out of Encore’s global intranet, Encore Connected, which is available to 7,500 colleagues across nine countries and five languages.
Prior to joining Encore, Borhani was a partner at ICF Next (formerly PulsePoint Group) where he worked side-by-side with Fortune 500 C-suite leaders and their organizations to drive measurable business results, provide strategic counsel, mitigate reputational risks, and build long-term affinity with internal and external stakeholders.
This included designing and leading global multi-disciplinary corporate communications programs, managing end-to-end crisis and issues responses, and creating and leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives. He also worked with global leaders to optimize their functions and train their teams on emerging best practices to make their brands accessible and relatable to different audiences. This work spanned a wide range of industries and included notable organizations such as DuPont, GE, Johnson & Johnson, Toyota, Pfizer, General Motors, AEG Worldwide, and Wells Fargo.
Borhani also oversaw communications and social media for FOX Sports’ national soccer-dedicated cable network, FOX Soccer, prior to joining ICF Next. At FOX Soccer, he was responsible for managing the positioning and messaging for the brand’s numerous international media properties, including the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup, and the 2015 –2022 Men’s and Women’s FIFA World Cups.
He is a proud graduate of USC Annenberg, with an MA in strategic public relations. Borhani was the recipient of PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 award, a former member of Arthur W. Page Society’s Future Leaders program, and is a current member of the Institute for Public Relations Elevate advisory board.
