Dominic Carr is the Chief Communications Officer at Starbucks Coffee Company. Carr manages Starbucks’ worldwide communications, including corporate and internal comms, and is a lead member of the company’s new global brand council, which is designed to promote Starbucks’ brand and protect its image to ensure consistency in all markets.

Carr previously led the communications team at Lyft, helping tell the story of the company’s work to improve lives with the world’s best transportation. Prior to joining Lyft, he led the global public affairs team at Microsoft for 10 years and was a member of both the company’s communications leadership team and the leadership team for the corporate, external, and legal affairs function. Before leading the public affairs team, Carr held senior roles in the Windows business group, corporate communications, and Asia regional communications at Microsoft.

Carr is a communications leader with more than 25 years of experience at major multinational companies where he has built global teams and strategic communications programs that change perceptions of businesses, brands, and issues. His experience spans strategic communications, public relations, media relations, crisis and issues management, government affairs, and corporate marketing.

He has a global perspective having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and managed globally distributed teams.
