Market Lead, Weber Shandwick; Center for Public Relations Board Member

Cheryl Cook is Weber Shandwick’s Los Angeles market lead. She specializes in executive communications and media relations for issues, crisis and consumer campaigns. Cook also serves as Weber Shandwick’s media and presentation specialist for C-suite level executives across a variety of sectors including healthcare, food and beverage, technology and CPG. 

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Cook was an executive vice president with Assembly –a DJE Agency dedicated to supporting Microsoft –where she oversaw earned media, thought leadership, including Microsoft’s Work Trends Index, and executive communications for Chris Young, Microsoft’s EVP of Business Development, Strategy and Ventures. 

Cook was also Edelman’s global account lead for Adobe – running an integrated team of 55 people in the US, Japan, Australia and India. While GCRM, Cook was responsible for leading award-winning work to help advance Adobe’s mission of giving everyone – from emerging artists to global brands – everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences. Over the course of her career, Cook has developed and implemented leadership communication strategies for C-suite executives including Howard Schultz of Starbucks, Bill Gates of Microsoft, Greg Creed of Taco Bell and Doug Parker of US Airways/American Airlines for both Miracle on the Hudson and the corporate merger with American Airlines. She has also worked with some of the world’s largest brands including Walmart, United, eBay, Shell, Nestle and Harley Davidson.
