Marissa Borjon is a marketing communications senior analyst in the corporate communications department at the headquarters for Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) in Plano, Texas. She is responsible for amplifying Toyota brand and vehicle campaigns and marketing sponsorships with an emphasis on Toyota’s sponsorship of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. When she first joined TMNA, Marissa was on the Toyota product communications team where she was responsible for vehicle reveals and developing and executing media programs in support of product launches and sustainment activities for the Toyota vehicle lineup. 

Prior to joining TMNA, Borjon spent over seven years on the public relations agency side while living in California. At Hill+Knowlton Strategies, she helped lead the Mazda North American Operations automotive account in the Costa Mesa office in Orange County. As account supervisor, Borjon was responsible for the development and execution of communications strategies for marketing initiatives, products, and motorsports. Before living in Orange County, Marissa was at Golin’s Los Angeles office where she worked on the account team servicing Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. She was the key client contact on the agency’s business focused on product communications, planning and executing press events, media relations support and managing the execution of creative, holistic campaigns. 

Borjon earned her master of arts degree in strategic public relations from USC Annenberg. While at USC, she served as co-president of TriSight Communications (a student-run PR agency) and program coordinator for the USC LGBT Center’s peer mentoring program. Borjon was a recipient of the 2010 USC Remarkable Women Award where she was one of three graduate students selected for demonstrating a commitment to student and women’s issues and community involvement. Upon graduation, Borjon was one of three graduate students to receive the 2010 USC Student Affairs Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Borjon earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication from the University of California, San Diego. She currently lives in the greater Dallas area and partially credits her people-person skills and public speaking expertise to the fact that she has been an emcee for wedding receptions since 2010.
