Claudia Chow, Strategic Public Relations

Where are you from and what were you doing before enrolling in graduate school?

I’m originally from the Bay Area in Northern California. Before Annenberg, I graduated from Occidental College, where I majored in politics and minored in sociology. After graduating, I worked for a few years as a Development Associate at a non-profit organization in downtown Los Angeles.

How did you learn about the graduate program in Public Relations and why did you choose USC Annenberg?

I learned about the public relations graduate program after doing some research on Annenberg’s website. I chose USC Annenberg because I fell in love with the school after attending Prospective Graduate Student Visit Day. You could tell all the professors were committed to the success of its students, and the students were so passionate about the program.

What have you enjoyed the most about studying Public Relations in Los Angeles at USC?

One of my favorite parts about the program has been the classes. I have really enjoyed how all of our classes are very career and skill-based, and not just based on theory. I can use everything I have learned at Annenberg in a future internship or job. We are also very fortunate to have so many resources available to us: guest speakers, networking events, the Digital Lounge, and many more.
