Jack Tang is interested in digital activism, social networks, computational social science, and political communication. He is currently working on network structure and communication dynamics in digital activism in racial justice and LGBTQ+ issues. His work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as Social Media + Society, Social Networks, Information Society, and Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media.

Tang received two bachelor’s degrees, a BBA in integrated business administration and a BSSc in journalism and communication, both with first class honours as well as an MPhil in communication from Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before moving to Hong Kong, Tang was born and raised in a small town of Sichuan province, the hometown of panda and chilly hotpot.
