A USC Annenberg Innovation Lab project was mentioned in a ZDnet article about a new analytics platform "concentrated on content-centric web apps with longer running data collection and analytics." IBM created Project BigSheets, which is an 'insight engine' that provides businesses with information about their users previously unavailable to analysts. USC Annenberg students created a film forecaster with BigSheets technology that collected web-wide information (like comments or blog posts) about different movies to predict which films would be successful at the box office. Their findings were translated into an info-graphic and posted to a blog that was covered in the Los Angeles Times.
