“Our job is to constantly put politicians under the microscope, but we think it’s only fair to scrutinize ourselves in the process. So it made perfect sense to partner with USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in hosting these panels, where top journalists and political analysts will take off the gloves on media coverage of the ’08 elections,” said Jim VandeHei, executive editor of POLITICO.

“We are delighted to partner with POLITICO to bring together the very best in the business for a candid exploration into the role of the press, including new media, in setting the tone for political debate as the nation heads into a very spirited general election campaign,” said Geoffrey Cowan, USC Annenberg dean emeritus and director of the Center on Communication Leadership.

Cowan and VandeHei, along with POLITICO’s editor-in-chief John Harris, will serve as program moderators. The program will also include a presentation by award winning presidential historian and journalism professor Richard Reeves.

These discussions are open to the press and the public. Limited seating is available. RSVP required. To RSVP, visit http://annenberg.usc.edu/rsvp.
