Professor Williams says Jeep-Call of Duty partnership reflects today's culture

Communication professor Dmitri Williams was quoted in a Nov. 7 Montreal Gazette article about Jeep partnering with the Call of Duty video game to sell the new Wrangler. Williams said "the branding speaks to a total lifestyle," which means it will resonate with consumers. “This marketing decision absolutely reflects the trends and culture of the day,” Williams said. “Generations X and Y have a much blurrier line between what it means to be a kid versus an adult, and about what’s permissible to like and not like.” The new Wrangler has Call of Duty-inspired graphics and logos throughout the outside and inside of the vehicle, and will sell for around $40,000.
