Journalism professor Diane Winston, holder of the Knight Chair in Media and Religion, delivered two lectures at the annual Public Life/Personal Faith Lecture at the Southern Methodist University on Feb. 9 and 10. She lectured about“Soup Soap and Salvation: William Booth’s Legacy for the 21st Century” and “Saving Grace: Ritual, Re-enchantment and Redemption in a Mediatized World." The yearly lecture series focuses on the way religious faith shapes personal decisions and actions. As both a journalist and a scholar, Winston provided insight on religion, entertainment media and news media. The proceeds from the luncheon will go to the Center for Religious Leadership at SMU's Perkins School of Theology to fund Christian-based leadership training.
