ABD at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California, Mingxuan (Elaine) Liu specializes in media psychology and social dynamics, with a solid training and research background in psychology. Before joining USC, Mingxuan received her M.S. from the University of California, Davis, and B.S. from the University of Macau. Her vision is to leverage information and communication technologies to lead advances in well-being outcomes and mediators (e.g., information processing, emotions, attitudes, communication processes), with an emphasis on the digital equity/inclusion of older adults. Mingxuan also seeks to make causal inferences to understand the fundamental "why" questions based on qualitative methods and digital footprint data.
