
Clare O’Connor is a writer, editor and organizer. Her academic research is situated at the intersection of popular music, religion and political consciousness. She also thinks and writes about social movements and revolutionary politics. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies and MA in Communication and Culture from York University, and a Joseph-Armand Bombardier SSHRC doctoral scholarship. Her publications include Keywords for Radicals: The Contested Vocabulary of Late-Capitalist Struggle (AK Press, 2016). Between 2007 and 2012 she served on the Editorial Committee of Upping The Anti: A Journal of Theory and Action. She is a founding organizer of Annenberg’s first graduate student conference, Critical Mediations, which is dedicated to advancing Cultural Studies scholarship within the field of Communication.
