Adam Perez is a freelance documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. His work centers on intimate stories that expose the nuances of race, gender, identity and culture. He was a Logan Fellow at the Carey Institute for Global Good where he was working on a short documentary about the journey of a trans man.
His short documentary 19 hours screened at the LA Film Festival, was viewed over 21 million times and won the Ruben Salazar excellence in journalism award. His work has appeared on TIME magazine, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, and Nextflix among others. Perez graduated with honors from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and cum laude from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
