Celebrating Charlotta Bass Day with special guests L.A. City Councilman Curren Price and Tara Duncan, President of Disney’s Freeform / Onyx Collective

Join the USC Annenberg Charlotta Bass Journalism & Justice Lab for the formal declaration of “Charlotta Bass Day” in the City of Los Angeles with a reading of the proclamation by special guest Councilman Curren Price.

Afterward, we will honor the lab’s mission of hosting public events that center Black media makers using their platforms to inspire and create change. For this portion, Bass Lab founder Allissa V. Richardson will be in conversation with Tara Duncan, the president of Disney’s Freeform / Onyx Collective, which recently premiered The 1619 Project docuseries (now streaming on Hulu) from Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones. A catered lunch will follow on the Wallis Annenberg Hall Patio for those who RSVP.
