M{2e} and the Financial Communications Society present: “Branded Content in Financial Marketing”

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 - 6 p.m. 8 p.m. Wallis Annenberg Hall (ANN), Forum/Lobby and ANN 106

Join us as The Media, Economics & Entrepreneurship program partners with the Financial Communications Society (FCS) to stage a moderated panel discussion on “Branded Content in Financial Marketing” with senior marketing executives from some of the leading financial services companies in the region. This will be FCS’ inaugural event in Los Angeles.

The program begins by asking:

In an era defined by a post-recession hangover at home and austerity-fueled turbulence abroad, how are financial services companies winning back their customers?

Branded content -- driven by video and digital marketing -- has become a boon in helping financial marketers improve their engagement, loyalty and favorability ratings.

Our discussion will consider particular examples of branded content and native advertising to see how the right balance of new technology and traditional storytelling is leading to successful marketing programs, whether for traditional firms, or financial technology startups.

Our panelists will include:

Cathy Stahl, Chief Marketing Officer, PIMCO
Will McKenna, VP, Director of Marketing Communications, American Funds
Cary Walker, SVP, Corporate Communications, City National Bank
Jennifer Barrett, Chief Education Officer, Acorns

Our moderator will be Alissa Coram, Reporter and Supervising Producer, IBD Videos, Investor’s Business Daily.

Kicking off the inaugural Los Angeles event will be Christopher H. Smith, Clinical Professor of Communication & Co-Director of USC Annenberg M{2e}.

The panel discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception in the Wallis Annenberg Hall Forum.

Complimentary seating is limited for students and faculty.

RSVP required.  To RSVP, email the M{2e} program at uscm2e@gmail.com.
