Please join us for the inaugural lecture in a new Olympic series co-hosted by the USC Center on Public Diplomacy and the Consulate General of Greece in Los Angeles.
Featuring Isidoros Kouvelos, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, and Christina Valassopoulou, Honorable Consul General of Greece in Los Angeles, the discussion will trace the evolution of the Olympic ideal, from its roots in ancient Greek values of excellence, unity, and peace; to Pierre de Coubertin’s vision for the modern Olympic Games; and how those principles continue to guide the Movement amid the global challenges of today.
This event launches a series leading up to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
