APDS Conference on the Future of Public Diplomacy

Friday, April 6, 2012 - 9 a.m.

Public diplomacy is traditionally viewed as governments engaging with foreign publics, but as the field ages and grows, it has been subject to the impacts of new technology, new key influencers and the changing roles of actors. So where is this dynamic subject going next? The Association of Public Diplomacy Scholars at USC (APDS) invites you to join the discussion for a day of panels with speakers from around the world discussing the future of public diplomacy.

The APDS conference features an opening address by Dr. Nicholas J. Cull, director of the Master of Public Diplomacy program at USC Annenberg and keynote speaker Ben Hammersley, the U.K. Prime Minister’s Ambassador to TechCity. Panelists include representatives from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of International Information Programs, United Nations Global Pulse, Facebook, Carleton University, Southeast European Film Festival, Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles and Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles.
