Favorite thing about hometown? All the friends I made there. I still keep in touch with them.
What do you enjoy doing? Watching my 11-year-old daughter swim, play soccer and volleyball.
What classes do you teach at Annenberg? I teach Summer Digital News Immersion, Fall Digital News Immersion, Advanced Magazine and Web Reporting, The American Press and Issues of Sexual Diversity, and Gender and the News Media.
What would you say is your most notable achievement? Earning my doctorate in Education from USC’s Rossier School of Education while working full-time and raising a family.
What’s your favorite thing about Annenberg? The students! They get better every year.
How would you describe your Annenberg experience? It’s been an enriching lifelong experience for me. Annenberg keeps getting better and better. I graduated with a B.A. in journalism from USC and have been teaching here since 2000, so I have literally experienced three decades of change.
What advice do you have to give Annenberg students? Get to know your professors. They can become mentors and friends.
