Yiqi Li received her B.A. degree in Journalism from Shanghai International Studies University and M.S. in Communication from Northwestern University. Her research aims to understand the ecological and evolutionary patterns of online communities and inter-organizational alliances, and how online entities strategically manage their resource niches to achieve better performance. She has been actively studying online ecology, organizational change, resource categorization, public information goods, and collective/connection action in virtual space using a variety of tools such as web scraping, network analysis, and statistical modeling.

Prior to her doctoral study in Annenberg, she had diverse experience working as an RA at Network for Nonprofit and Social Impact (NNSI), an intern for Xinhua News Agency, a junior marketing manager at startup companies (FoodTrace and Journey Foods), and an English instructor for professionals on Hujiang.com.
