Nick Busalacchi is an urban planner and avid student of the city. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. His research explores how emerging communication technologies can help facilitate collective and localized management of resources. Nick is particularly interested in bringing scholarship on human behavior into conversation with urban design and governance.

Nick earned his Master of Planning (Economic Development) from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before returning to graduate school, he coordinated RFP responses for HNTB Corporations’s federal business unit and provided environmental planning and public involvement oversight for a major rail reconstruction program in Chicago. Nick enjoys filmmaking, hiking, and yoga in his spare time, and has an abnormal appreciation for ice cream, the Green Bay Packers, and his dog Henry Rollins.
