Mehitabel Glenhaber is interested in labor conflicts around new media technologies, co-creative mediums, and fan communities. Their current work focuses on documenting and describing the particular and unique gift-like economies of a variety of on- and offline spaces for artistic production, from indie tabletop RPG design communities to Live Action Roleplayers to fan artists on Tumblr. They are also concerned with issues of online ownership - of platforms, of intellectual property rights, and of control over digital commons.

Mehitabel has a B.S. in Comparative Media Studies and Science, Technology, and Society from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also worked researching online fan communities for Chaotic Good Studios. In addition to studying media, Mehitabel also designs video games and tabletop roleplaying games, and draws comics, including Greenhouse Affect, an educational comic strip about climate change.
