Mehitabel Glenhaber is interested in the history of new media technologies, focusing on how societies react to and adapt to new media forms. She is especially interested in anxieties and moral panics about media, including comic books, early film, video games, and the internet, as well as how societies use science fiction and other futurist writings to collectively worldbuild utopian and dystopian predictions for the future of media technology.
Mehitabel has a B.S. in Comparative Media Studies and Science, Technology, and Society from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also worked researching online fan communities for Chaotic Good Studios. In addition to studying media, Mehitabel also writes video games and live action roleplaying games, and draws comics, including Greenhouse Affect, an educational comic strip about climate change.
