Liyuan (Leah) is interested in using persuasive technology to create effective health interventions. Especially, she wants to explore how interactivity could produce desirable behavior changes. Her current works have been focusing on assessing the potential of virtual environments as diagnostic tools of subsequent health behavior changes.

She received her MA in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia and her MA in Linguistics from Purdue University. Those experiences also made her an instructor both in communication and second language learning. She has been an instructor of interpersonal communication for two years at the University of Georgia and an ESL teacher focusing on TOEFL, SAT, and GRE.
