Apply to do real-world investigative reporting!
The Beacon Project is Annenberg’s award-winning summer investigative reporting squad, providing students with professional reporting experience. Last year, every member of the team published in professional outlets, giving them invaluable clips. And two of the students were honored with Hearst Enterprise Reporting Awards, one of college journalism’s most prestigious prizes. This year, the Beacon Project will take on corruption and social justice in Los Angeles.
Students from all majors, backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to those who demonstrate journalism experience. This application is the first step in a multi-step process.
