Castells on the financial crisis

Communication professor and Wallis Annenberg Chair in Communication Technology and Society Manuel Castells was quoted in India's Deccan Chronicle. The Jan. 13 article, "Lessons from relay of debacles," traced the effects of the 2008 financial crisis. Castells told the Chronicle that "there has been a metamorphosis of the crisis from a financial crisis that became an economic crisis before finally ending up as a political crisis." He also said "banks’ interests are invariably protected regardless of the circumstances and people are forced to pay both ways."
