Ten Years Later - U.S. Public Diplomacy and the Arab World CPD Conversations in Public Diplomacy

On Sept. 8 from noon until 1:30 p.m. (TCC 450), CPD is hosting a panel of experts to discuss U.S. public diplomacy during the past 10 years and will consider ways in which it might be improved for the years ahead. Particular emphasis will be placed on changes in the region, such as the increasing use of new communication technologies and the political changes resulting from this year’s Arab revolutions. ... CPD Welcomes New Canada-U.S. Fulbright Visiting Research Chair Bernard Duhaime In August, professor Bernard Duhaime joins the USC Center on Public Diplomacy as the Canada-U.S. Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Public Diplomacy. New CPD Perspectives Released, "The Hard Truth about Soft Power" CPD Perspectives is a periodic publication highlighting scholarship intended to stimulate critical thinking about the study and practice of public diplomacy. CPD Advisory Board Member Markos Kounalakis and former Hungarian Ambassador to the United States Andras Simonyi have authored the fifth paper in the CPD Perspectives series for 2011. ... More

George Joins CPD as Fifth Public Diplomat in Residence Established in 2005 by joint agreement between the USC Center on Public Diplomacy and the office of the U.S. Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, the U.S. Public Diplomat in Residence is a one-year detail assignment for one Senior Foreign Service Public Diplomacy Officer.
