USC Annenberg responds to hurricane disaster

A number of USC Annenberg students have been personally impacted by the terrible disaster along the Gulf Coast. Ellie Wallace, an Annenberg student from Jackson, Mississippi, has offered to organize an informal fundraising drive at the School. Ellie, along with other students and staff, will be collecting cash donations from anyone who wishes to contribute, with the gifts turned over to the Red Cross's hurricane relief efforts. Beginning Tuesday, September 6, there will be a donation table in the East Lobby that will be staffed throughout the week. Individuals may also make a gift online to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund. "Our thoughts and prayers are with our students, their families, and all the victims of this terrible tragedy," said Dean Geoffrey Cowan. "In addition to offering support to the victims, the USC Annenberg School will continue to provide a forum for discussion about the disaster, media coverage, public policy implications as well as government and public response."
