Corwin documentary wins Oscar

A documentary about journalism professor Norman Corwin (pictured) won the Academy Award for the best documentary short subject film. A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin was directed by filmmaker Eric Simonson and produced by Corinne Marrinan. USC Annenberg hosted the film's premiere on Monday, Jan. 23. After the screening, Simonson and Corwin, 95, took questions from the audience. Corwin said that teaching at USC has been the "most rewarding experience" of his life. The Academy Awards were presented on Sunday, March 5, 2006.
