Myoung-Sun (Kelly) Song graduated magna cum laude from Ewha Womans University in South Korea with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. For her senior thesis, she explored the literary techniques used in the lyrics of rap artist Tupac Shakur. She continued her studies with an M.A. in Professional Writing, also at Ewha, where her thesis looked at gender, fashion and consumption in Korean popular culture. Her professional experiences include working as a CRM/marketing coordinator at a global luxury fashion house and managing international communications projects for a cultural arts foundation in Korea. Currently, her research looks at the intersections of race, gender and citizenship in Korean popular culture and popular music.
