MPD director publishes new book

MPD director Nick Cull and his Spanish colleagues Francisco Rodriguez and Lorenzo Delagardo have co-edited a collection of essays on the role of U.S. public diplomacy in Spain's transition to democracy.  The book is the first to tackle this subject in English and among the first to consider the role of Cold War public diplomacy in a bilateral context.  The authors find a complex story which underlines once again how difficult it is to spread democracy, but also how important well-considered public diplomacy can be in such a process.
