My scholarly interests include rural development, technological effect, social movements, online activism, and political economy. My dissertation focuses on agricultural informatization and its social impact on agricultural power dynamics between different social groups. Informatization is profoundly transforming agricultural practices and redistributing power in the rural context. The traditional agricultural power dynamics are challenged by the permeating of ICTs and the related social structures. I hope that my research will recenter rural areas and reveal how ICTs are affecting different social groups differently. I will explore the nature of the agriculture sector and the rural sector in a global digital economy.
