Nathaniel Ming Curran spent his undergraduate years at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), University of Wisconsin (Madison), and Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. He received a fellowship to the Group in Asian Studies at the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his MA degree. His MA thesis explored the social functions of English in South Korea.

Nathaniel's current research interests are broad, reflecting his interdisciplinary training in Political Economy and Area Studies. His current work focuses on the intersections of globalization, neoliberalism, and cosmopolitanism. In keeping with his longstanding interest in politics and policy, Nathaniel spent the Summer of 2017 as a COMPASS Fellow in Washington DC.
