Lena received her BA and MA degrees in the interdisciplinary program ‘Communication in Social and Economic Contexts’ from Berlin University of the Arts. Having worked on several projects ranging from developing branding strategies to designing persuasive smart phone applications and gesture-operable interfaces, she decided that she desired an in-depth perspective on mechanisms of social psychology and interaction with technology.

Lena’s current research interests mainly revolve around online gaming, social interaction within online games, and how people use technology. Recent projects analyzed how sexual objectification of female online gamers on video game live streaming platforms impacts on the perception of female online gamers and how early adopters use and appropriate Google Glass as a new technology into their daily lives.

At Annenberg, she is affiliated with the Annenberg Networks Network and the Virtual Worlds Exploratorium. Please visit lena.uszkoreit.net for more information on Lena’s ongoing projects.
